City man charged with stealing from neighbor
A Russellville man was arrested on burglary charges after allegedly breaking into a neighbor’s house and stealing a cell phone.
Timothy La Drake Dinsmore, 18, 707 Beech St., Russellville, was arrested for second-degree burglary, second-degree theft of property, third-degree theft of property and public intoxication, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said.
According to Hargett, officers received a call during the early morning hours of July 7 that there had been a break-in on Beech Street.
Hargett said the victim stated he was awakened by a subject who was standing next to his bed and he noticed the subject had his personal cell phone in his hand.
Police investigator Lt. Scotty Lowery said the victim recognized the person as one of his neighbors and took him across the street to his house.
“The man told the suspect’s family what had happened and that he intended to call the police,” Lowery said.
“When Mr. Dinsmore found out the police were on their way, he fled the scene on foot.”
Lowery said later in the morning, Dinsmore was located passed out on a bench at a local apartment complex.
Officers discovered Dinsmore was intoxicated and initially arrested him for public intoxication.
Lowery said after questioning, Dinsmore was also charged with burglary and theft stemming from the earlier incident.
