Ollie Eugene Britnell, 88, of Athens, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital.

Mr. Britnell was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Franklin County to Jessie Elmer Britnell and Alta M. Creekmore Britnell.

Services were Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial was in Athens City Cemetery.

Mr. Britnell was a longtime Church of Christ minister for 60 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Alta Britnell.

He is survived by his wife, Madelene Britnell, of Athens; two sons, Olen Britnell and wife, Jane, of Athens, and Keith Britnell and wife, Mary Jo, of Harvest; six grandchildren, Barry Britnell and wife, Tabatha, Bonny Black and husband, Daryl, Barbara Jo Webb and husband, Norm Jr., all of Athens, Lauren McNatt and husband, Jeremy, of Nashville, Julie Britnell and Cody Britnell, both of Harvest; ten great-grandchildren, Jacob Britnell, Samuel Britnell, Elizabeth Ann Britnell, Bailey Black, Lacey Beth Black, Maggie Black, Meredith Black, Emily Webb, Kara Webb and Sabrina Webb; brother, Charlie Britnell and wife, Sue, of Russellville.
