Julian Thomas Jackson, 89, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Belmont, Miss., and was an American History teacher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in World War II in which he flew 53 bombing missions. He credited the Tuskegee Airmen for giving him the coverage to make it home.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, Miss., with Bro. Mark White officiating. Burial was in Belmont City Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife of 68 years, Nell Jackson, Muscle Shoals; one son, Julian Mark Jackson, Spanish Fort, and one grandson, Robert Mark Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Alexander Jackson and Ollie Pearl Kaiser Jackson, three brothers, Clyde Jackson, Horace Jackson and Freddie Jackson and two sisters, Mary Francis Bostick and Bernice McDowell.
