FUMC hosts fundraiser

Russellville First United Methodist Church is currently selling tickets for lunch and dinner plates from Stevie Ray’s Catering as a fundraiser for their Ministry Center.
“We had several ladies in the church who came up with an idea to have a fundraiser to support our Ministry Center since it’s not just a place used by our church but a place that’s used by the community as well,” Pastor Bo Lloyd said.
“That was our intent when the concept for the building was first developed – to reach out to and minister to the community through the use of this building.”
Lloyd said currently several civic groups and basketball teams use the center for meetings and practices and several community-wide events like “Saw You at the Pole” have taken place there as well.
To purchase a ticket for this dinner, see any member of First United Methodist Church in downtown Russellville.
Plates can be picked up on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Ministry Center located behind the church or meals can be served inside the Ministry Center. Orders of 10 or more can also be delivered.
Plates are $10 and include a choice of fish, chicken or shrimp along with slaw, fries, hushpuppies, dessert and tea.
For more information, call the church at 256-332-2955.
