Colbert man accused of home theft

A Tuscumbia man was arrested this past Friday after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of items from a Russellville residence.
Jeffrey Thompson, 20, 215 Scoggins Dr., Tuscumbia, was arrested and charged with first-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary, Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said.
According to Oliver, the sheriff’s office received a report on Jan. 17 that a TV, laptop computers, a gaming system, several games and guns as well as other items had been stolen from a home on Cave Hollow Road in Russellville.
Oliver said the burglary and theft had taken place during the day on Jan. 17.
Oliver said during the course of the investigation, Thompson was developed as a suspect.
After questioning by investigators, Oliver said Thompson was arrested and charged on Friday.
At press time, Thompson was still in custody at the Franklin County Jail.
