Robbie N. White

November 24, 2012

Robbie N. White, 80, of Nashville, Tenn., passed away November 24, 2012.

She was born Jan. 27, 1932, in Phil Campbell. She was the eighth of ten children born to Stanley and Maggie Fleming. At age eleven, her mother died and she took the mother role to her brothers and sisters. At age 17, she left home to go to Ohio to find work. While there, she married and they raised three children. She moved with her family to Nashville in 1970 and continued to work outside the home until age 78, and always enjoyed the work environment. After being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, she started making quilts (approximately 100) for her family and friends. She always loved working in her yard and gardening.

Her smiling face will be greatly missed.

She is survived by daughter, Sandra Andrews, of Nashville; sons, Larry White of Nashville and Jeff White and wife, Ginger, of Hazel Green; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

At her request, her body was donated to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. There will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice.
