Johnny Clayton Vandiver, 67, Wauchula, Fla., passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at his residence.

He was born in Franklin County on Oct. 10, 1945.

The visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Akins Funeral Home prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service will be at in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Motes officiating. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Russellville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Drewey and Arellia Vandiver; brothers, Lloyd Ray Vandiver, Drewey Clay Vandiver; sisters, Marie Holland, June Kathryn Hulett.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Brewer Vandiver; sons, John Cody Vandiver and wife, Kaitlyn, Wauchula, Fla., Gregory Kirk Vandiver and wife, Juli, Ind.; daughter, Lisa Gail Hillman and husband, Dean; granddaughter, Addison Blake Vandiver; brothers, James Wilson Vandiver and wife, Glenda, David Lee Vandiver, Tim Vandiver, Russellville; sisters, Annie Ruth Cook, Russellville, Peggy Diane Whitson, Decatur; brother-in-law, James Holland; a host of nieces and nephews.

He was a Baptist by faith; he enjoyed fishing, southern gospel music and riding around; he was an Army veteran.
