2012 Franklin County Tournament does not disappointPublished 5:59am Wednesday, April 18, 2012
The 2012 Franklin County Tournament for baseball and softball ended up being played on the same days in the same location — Vina. This made it easy for me to go between games and take pictures, but getting shots and scores of every game made it difficult to keep a running track of what was going on in the games.
I normally have game highlights and quotes from coaches in my gamers, but the multitude of games made it difficult to keep track of everything.
I decided instead to do the tournament roundup in the format you see to your left.
I ran pictures of every game with the final score. I did a little bit of design work to make it look good — in my humble opinion — and I left it at that.
I was talking to Richie Hester, head coach of the Belgreen Lady Bulldogs softball team, and he suggested that I cover the tournament in the format present on the page.
He might just see this page and think that he gave me the idea for how I designed the page. Well too bad Coach Hester, I had already thought of that idea. I think it looks good at any rate.
All that aside, the tournament did not disappoint. Good teams played some tough games against each other, and the tournament winners were decided fair and square.
My hat’s off to Phil Campbell for sweeping both baseball and softball. Both teams had to face stiff competition in order to take home the trophy.
Of course, they’ll be taking the trophy to the same place.
