Red Bay police arrest juvenile for September car break-ins
The Red Bay Police Department was able to close two open cases this week for car burglaries that occurred back in September.
On Monday, a juvenile was charged with two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and was also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Red Bay Police Chief Janna Jackson said.
According to Jackson, investigators were able to obtain a confession from the juvenile who admitted to vandalizing two separate motor vehicles in September 2010.
Jackson said the juvenile had been a suspect in the vehicle break-ins and when he was being questioned Monday about other criminal activity, he confessed to the September crimes.
Jackson said the juvenile caused damage to both cars by busting out the windows.
The juvenile has been transported to the Tennessee Valley Juvenile Detention Facility in Tuscumbia to await a court hearing.
